The Alumnae & Friends Reception gives alums, and supporters of the program, a chance to network, reconnect, and forge new relationships. Girls Staters are represented in every facet of state, county, and local government--as well as in all industries and fields--and this Reception is a wonderful opportunity to harness our community for good!
Light dinner and drinks provided!
Any Alumna, friend of Sunflower Girls State, and family members of current or past delegates are welcome. RSVP required to attend.

The Inauguration Evening has three parts. Alumnae & Friends Reception, Inaugural Program, and a Governor’s Social following the program.

The Inaugural Program celebrates the delegates' accomplishments throughout Girls State and honors the Girls State elected government officials. The event is capped by an inaugural address from the newly elected Girls State Governor.
Alumnae Sunflower Presentation is an opportunity for Alumns to participate in the sharing of our 86 year history during the Inagural Ceremony. Learn more here.
Governor’s Social: After the Inaugural Program, guests are invited to join us in the Burge Union Commons for cookies and punch to congratulate the newly elected SGS Governor & Officials, and mingle with the SGS delegates, staff, and other esteemed guests.
